Translation:
If one does not reach Ali, where shall he go? Where shall he reach?
By God one who reaches Ali reaches God
Note:
For this meter, musical performances that base their rhythm on the rhythm of the poem are rare (presumably because the metricality of LLHLH is marginal). In this recording, the performer sings the poem in a partially rhythmic manner and no tapping is involved. However, his gestures (moving the hand downward and bending down) reflect the rhythm of the meter. While reciting the first verse he makes gestures once per metron and as he moves to the second verse, as if to intensify the rhythmic feel of the performance, he moves his hand once per foot.
