Translation:
That night, inside the room, a man was weeping
With his weeping, the rose garden was weeping blood tears
Note:
Like many similar cases, the tapping in this recording occurs on even numbered metra (i.e. the second metron, the fourth metron, etc.). This does not necessarily mean that the beginning of the second metron is the beginning of the colon in the default reading of this poem. Intuitions regarding cola are weak especially in complex meters (i.e. meters composed of non-identical metra). Thus, the initial moras of either the odd-numbered and even-numbered metra of a verse can be chosen as tapping sites when the tapping rate is once per two metra. The prevalence of cases where even metra are chosen may have practical reasons; listeners need some time to find the rhythm of the poem they hear and to start tapping accordingly. This recording is slightly anomalous since the lengths of the metra that contain pauses are significantly longer than the other metra. There may be a general tendency to lengthen verse-final metra, but it is not found in all recordings.
